The program opened on Thursday, August 3, with a teaching and exploration of awe by Mitra Mark Power, our host for this interconnected series of six conversations with authors, artists, actors, meditation instructors, explorers, storytellers, and more. The series will feature a new talk every two weeks. You can find an easy overview of the schedule here.
Throughout the series, we will explore the themes of Awe, Creativity, Joy and the Present Moment, Curiosity, and Tender Heart. In conversation with Mitra Mark, each guest will talk about their diverse and personal connection with awe, exposing similarities that might awaken curiosity about our own individual connection. To support your inquiry, we will offer contemplations and practices, a chance to create your own Book of Awe, and provide time for your questions.
The teachings are in English, with closed captioning available. The entire series will be translated live into Spanish. Please check the individual registration pages for possible additional translations offered for that specific talk. Video recordings of all the talks will be available until Thursday, December 14.
Following the six talks there will be a day-long experiential program, with special guests, at Nalanda West in Seattle and online.
Our aspiration is for Be Wise Go Kind 2023: Awaken Awe to be an opportunity to deeply inquire into the nature of awe, going beyond hope and fear, and inviting you to make it a lifelong path.

About Mitra Mark (presenter and host)
MARK POWER will open our series with an introductory talk and then host the following conversations with our guests. He is a longtime student of the Buddha’s teachings, studying with his teacher, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, since the early 1990s. Like so many, he came to this path seeking to engage a larger, kinder, more playful sense of being. His compassionate care for others shines throughout his leadership roles at Nalandabodhi and his work as a chaplain and life coach. Today, Mitra Mark joyfully explores the interplay of dharma, relationships, leadership and the arts, encouraging generosity of heart, humor and wisdom in every area of life.
Thank you for registering for the complete series of talks. View the schedule and mark your calendar.
