What is Nalandabodhi?

Nalandabodhi is an international Buddhist community offering the timeless wisdom and boundless compassion of the Buddha to inspire individuals and create kind communities in today’s world. We emphasize working with our minds and hearts through the teachings of the Buddha. In particular, we approach the dharma, the Buddha’s teachings, as a “science of mind” through the three paths of study, meditation, and mindful activity. In this way, we are invited to ask questions, explore, and experiment with the methods ourselves. Learn more about us — including our online offerings of study and practice — at www.nalandabodhi.org.

What is freshmind?

Rooted in the time-honored wisdom of the Buddha, freshmind is curated for contemporary minds, delivering heart-warming, relevant, and useful teachings through courses, short videos, meditations, articles, and quotes on the freshmind website and app.

The vision for freshmind — to offer authentic, accessible, and applicable teachings to a 21st century audience — belongs to its founder, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche.

Each moment is a fresh experience that begins a journey full of possibilities.

Are there any materials I need?

Written materials and other Awaken Awe resources will be available on our website — along with information about the recordings. You will receive a link and password to the Participant Resources page upon registration.

In which languages are the talks available?

The series of talks is available in English,  and will be translated live into Spanish. The series will be post-talk translated into Chinese, and Portuguese.

Will there be closed captioning for this retreat?

Yes. We’ll be using Zoom closed captioning, which simultaneously translates spoken English into written English text or another selected language. How do I get access to the series of talks?

When you register for the entire series, you will get a confirmation email with all the information to access each talk. If you register for any one of the talks, you will receive a confirmation email on how to access that particular talk. In both cases, the Zoom link for the talk will be included in the confirmation message and also be sent to you in a separate email three days before the talk.

How long will the series of talks be available?

Registration for an individual talk closes after the talk. It is not possible to register for individual talks afterwards. Registration for the entire series will be open until the last talk The Peaks and Valleys of Awe with Matt Fioretti on Thursday, October 12th. day-long program on Saturday, November 11th.

I joined one talk. Can I still register for the entire series (for a reduced price)?

If you registered for one or more individual talks you can still register for the entire series to gain access to all the talks and recordings. When you register for one or more individual talks, you will receive a message afterwards with a link to how you can still register for the entire series at a reduced price. You can no longer register for the entire series after the last talk on October 12th.

Can I ask questions that come up during a talk in the series?

Yes! We’ll have a space to ask live questions during each talk. As you listen to the conversations, please note down any question you might want to ask Mitra Mark Power and our other guests.

I don’t have the funds. Can I still join Awaken Awe?

No one is turned away due to lack of funds. On every registration page there is a link to a scholarship signup form. You can use that form to apply for a scholarship. We will then send you a link that you can use to purchase the talk for an amount that suits your need. You can choose this amount yourself. If you need further assistance, please email help@nalandabodhi.org

I click on submit, but the registration form will not allow me to complete my registration!

"I click on submit and it keeps scrolling me back up to the top of the page. I don't see any required spaces where I have not completed something." It's easy to overlook a required field. Please double-check your entries. The two easiest entries to miss are "country" and the "consent" checkbox at the bottom. Look for a message just below the Bookings heading. If you still need help, please reach out to help@nalandabodhi.org.

What is the refund policy?

If you cancel your registration at least three days before the talk, you will receive a full refund. If you register for the entire series of talks, you can ask for a refund before the first upcoming talk after you have registered. Please remember that even if you're not able to access the live talk, your registration gives you access to recordings of the talk you registered for or the entire series (depending on what you register for). If you decide that you do need to cancel, please email help@nalandabodhi.org to request a refund. Refunds may take up to a week to process.
